Breath, 2015
My primary focus is on the spiritual meditation through the documentation of how the substances undergo from the repression through time. I have experimented with natural materials, such as air, breath, water, and live plants that are contained within limited space, and the process of the changes through time becomes the action of releasing. In the series of BREATH, I preserved my friends’ and my own breath in plastic bags and sealed them with different materials. Breath as an act of life and one’s spiritual extensions, its tension of being contained and compressed becomes an act of rebellion, which the process of deflation represents the nature of liberation confronting repression, which conveys the idea of cycle of life, and the most important thing is to make people be aware of the value of other people's lives, especially for us who live in a chaotic world nowadays.
